Dr Matthew Taylor
Director and Principal Ecologist
Matt founded Ecotec Environmental in 2020. He is passionate about integrating the ecological, cultural, and socio-economic dimensions of environmental issues so that communities can thrive alongside nature.
Matt thrives on working with clients big and small, to develop and deliver innovative natural capital, citizen science and ecological monitoring projects.
Matt is an accredited Accounting For Nature® expert. He formerly worked as a senior ecologist at a leading conservation NGO for 12 years.
When he’s not working, Matt can mostly be found buried in a book, at the beach with his young family, or surfing his local break.

Dr Siobhan de Little
Environmental Analyst
Siobhan joined Ecotec in 2023. Passionate about using data and analytics to solve wicked problems, Siobhan specialises in data wrangling, database management and predictive statistical modelling.
Siobhan has worked across many areas of environmental science including investigating sustainable pest control options for agriculture, spatial modelling of melaleuca forests in Kakadu, population modelling of rock wallabies in Western Australia, and analysis of the ecological effects of water delivery in the Murray-Darling Basin. Siobhan has also completed the Accounting for Nature® Accredited Expert Course.
When she's not immersed in data, Siobhan is likely to be either at the top of a mountain or diving into the serene depths of the nearest ocean.
Madeleine Radke
Environmental Analyst
Madeleine applies her diverse skills to business analytics and systems design, allowing her to flex her inner data nerd while optimising the impact of Ecotec’s clients’ environmental projects.
She finds satisfaction in crafting streamlined end-to-end workflows for data design, collection, processing and publication.
Madeleine brings over a decade of hands-on experience in designing ground operations and user-centred systems for large-scale events - practical, applied skills that underpin her technical carbon sector expertise and environmental management qualifications.
Madeleine enjoys patting cats, playing ukulele, kayaking and parkour, although not necessarily all at the same time.
Phillip Laroche
Project Management
Phillip is passionate about collaboratively developing strategies and delivering projects that connect clients with their stakeholders and communities to deliver outcomes for nature.
With 11 years of experience in the environment sector and 10 years in eco-tourism management and guiding, Phillip brings a diverse skill set to the Ecotec team including community engagement-related strategy, policy and program development, environmental project management, events management, environmental writing and communications.
Phillip lives in a tree-top house near the beach and enjoys teaching his young boys about nature, camping, photography, volunteering in his local community, record collecting, and cooking for friends and family.
